KP Mobile App for Smoking Reduction/Cessation.

The Problem

There are a lot of smoking cessation apps out there but they mainly target users who are ready to, or actively trying to quit. We're looking at the possibility of designing a mobile app that is targeted at users who are not ready to quit, but would like to quit some day; this segment makes up approximately 80% of the smoking population and represents a major opportunity to help people lead healthier lives and ultimatley reduce the number of deaths attributed to smoking.

I found out about this project through my HCDE 517 "Usability Studies" course and asked to volunteer. The team at Kaiser was gracious enough to let me on board and I'm happy to still be contributing to this project.

Deliverables

This project is in the very early stages. Thus far, I've been studying research literature provided by the Kaiser Permanente team (GEMSS), ideating with sketches and mockups, and building prototypes to facilitate discussion. Below is an example of a prototype presentation I created - I used a combination of Photoshop and InVision to create the prototype.
